Outpatient Clinic Director
Paul joined our CVFC staff in 1990 and has been an important part of our team ever since. Throughout his 15 years as a primary counselor and 10+ years as Outpatient Clinic Director, Paul has worked to promote a client-centered approach to treatment, while also encouraging the use of evidence-based practices. Paul was educated locally, graduating from Clinton Community College with an Associates Degree in Humanities and Social Science, and SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and a Master’s Degree in Community Agency Counseling. He also holds a CASAC and LMHC certification, and in 2011 had the honor of being added to the Clinton Community Wall of Fame for his outstanding career in Human Services, and his continued dedication as a helping professional. Paul is passionate in his belief that individuals experiencing substance abuse disorders are capable of change.
Clinic Senior Counselor
Jake Coulombe has worked in the the addictions field for 5 years and began his employment at CVFC in 2013. He earned his BA in Psychology and is a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).
Dr. Schenkel has practiced in a variety of settings for 41 years and shares his skills with two addiction clinics here in Plattsburgh. Receiving his MD from the University of California San Diego, Dr. Schenkel became a board certified psychiatrist in 1999. He belongs to the American Psychiatric Association and also participated in the development of a suboxone program, which makes a sober life possible for recovering opioid addicts. He’s here with us at CVFC to help and support those struggling with addiction, and together with the team Dr. Schenkel works diligently to improve the lives of our clients.
